Leadership

Our church is led by a team of elders. This primary leadership office in the local church is described in three ways: elder, pastor, and overseer (Acts 20:17, 28; 1 Peter 5:1-3). These biblically qualified men, along with our lead pastor for preaching and teaching, pastor and oversee this ministry and are responsible for the spiritual well-being of our church family (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9).

John Brackbill

Lead Elder | Pastor for Preaching and Teaching

John joined the pastoral leadership team in July of 2018. Previously he pastored The Bible Church in Port Washington, NY, from 2011-2018 after being an elder at Grace Baptist Church, a church plant in Queens, NY, from 2008-2011. The Lord used the faithful example of John's parents serving the Lord in the local church to burden him for pastoral ministry which led him to pursue ministry training culminating in a Master of Divinity degree at Bob Jones University's Seminary and Evangelism Center. His passion is to behold and proclaim the glory of God in the face of Jesus as revealed in the Bible through the public exposition and private ministry of Scripture. He and his wife Sarah have two sons and four daughters.

Elder | Associate Pastor

Mark grew up in a Christian home where he was faithfully taught the Scriptures from a young age. As a young person, he recognized his need for a Savior and placed his faith in Jesus Christ. Desiring to serve God with his life, he pursued theological training to be able to minister the Word of God effectively. Upon completion of that formal training, he served as an assistant pastor for thirteen years at Westerville Bible Church in Ohio, serving in youth ministries, music, senior ministries, and office administration. Upon learning of a need for leadership development in northern Chile, he and his wife, Rebekah, served as missionaries with the Gospel Mission of South America for eight years. As an elder of the Iglesia Berea Centro Bíblico in Antofagasta, Chile, Mark taught and discipled leaders as that church matured and became fully independent. In 2025, he accepted a call to join the elder team at The Church of the Open Bible, serving as an associate pastor.
